If you’ve had a look at our About Us page, you might already know that most of us here at InstantCard are passionate about new technology. One manifestation of this passion was our initiative to accept Bitcoin payments fairly early in the crypto currency’s life. The majority of people, however, have yet to make the move to Bitcoin. This is understandable. Since its inception, it has been somewhat difficult to use for everyday purchases. And, because of the price volatility, a lot of vendors have been hesitant in accepting it as tender. It looks, however, like the former is changing—using Bitcoin is getting a whole lot easier.

We were recently made aware of the new Shift Card, a Visa card which debits your Coinbase account. Now, people are free to pay with Bitcoin, even if vendors don’t facilitate direct Bitcoin payments. At InstantCard, we think this is exciting. We’re curious if more of our clients will begin using the currency now that it seems to be entering the mainstream. (We hope so—the blockchain technology behind Bitcoin is awesome!) And, the hope is that if more people use the currency, its volatility should (we hope) reduce.

Accepting Bitcoin is just one way we try to stay on top of the shifting landscape of technological advancement. If you haven’t yet, have a look at our Web Services page.  We will do our best to continue to exploit every possible technological advancement, in order to make running your business even easier. If there is a web service which you would like to see that we do not offer, don’t hesitate to call. We’re always excited to chat about new implementations of tech. And, if you’re thinking of making the move to Bitcoin, consider using it to make your next InstantCard payment.
