RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags in ID badges operate using passive technology. These tags don’t need their own power supply as they’re powered by the radio waves from the RFID reader. When the ID badge comes within range of the reader, the RFID tag draws power from the reader’s electromagnetic field, enabling it to transmit the stored information back to the reader.
