Children’s Advocacy Center of SWFL—Nonprofit of the Month
We are proud to have worked with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Southwest Florida (CAC) since 2014. They have been working towards improving children’s lives, and the lives of their family members, through a coordinated response to child abuse and neglect.
CAC is Florida’s largest children’s advocacy center. Additionally, it is the only advocacy center for children in its four-county area which is accredited by the National Children’s Alliance.
At CAC, we assess and treat kids believed to have been physically or sexually abused or to be at-risk of such abuse, and a provide a safe place for them to come and be heard. We offer abuse determination services as well as therapeutic counseling, parenting education and prevention programs in Lee, Hendry, Glades and Charlotte Counties.
The Family First program is a voluntary violence prevention and intervention program designed to provide families with the knowledge, skills and support they need to manage risk factors associated with violence and abuse. The program is offered to parents whose children attend one of four designated daycares in Lee and Hendry Counties or the Pine Manor After School & Summer Program.
